Sunday School News
The Sunday school children have begun the celebration of Advent by starting the unit Journey to Bethlehem. This unit began Sunday, November 27th and will be completed on Sunday, December 18th. The children will learn that in Biblical times, people waited with anticipation for the coming of the Savior. Still today, during Advent, we are encouraged to wait and prepare to celebrate the birth of the promised Savior, Jesus. The coming of Jesus is the gift of Christmas, something we can remember and celebrate all year.
On Sunday, December 18th, the children will attend their regularly scheduled station for the morning, but will have special Christmas activities planned in their classrooms as we truly celebrate the joy and excitement of Jesus’ birthday. The Middle School, High School and all adult Sunday school classes will be participating in our church-wide Advent study called The Journey. This will be an exciting time for all involved to explore the story of the birth of Jesus with fresh eyes and ears. If you want to come along on this journey, meet in the Sanctuary at 9:45 on Sunday mornings through Sunday, December 18th. Parents, please note that Sunday school will not be held on Sunday, December 25th or Sunday, January 1st. Classes will resume on Sunday, January 8th. |
